City to open gay cultural centre

Copenhagen’s culture and leisure administration has approved the establishment of a culture house where homosexuals, bisexuals and transvestites can feel at home, reports Politiken newspaper.

The money for the project will reportedly be taken from the profits of the recent World Outgames sporting event. According to Politiken, the new building would house a café, library, meeting rooms and have a secretariat handling operations for the milieu’s groups and organisations.

The city has not yet indicated where the building would be located or how its daily operations would be financed.
