Michael Vidler, sole proprietor of Vidler & Co Solicitors, a litigation and civil rights law firm in Hong Kong. Michael is well known for his work, primary in the areas of public law and criminal law. He also practices civil, immigration and family law. His firm has been involved in a number of ground-breaking LGBTI cases – “Leung TC William Roy Vs. the Secretary for Justice”; “Cho Man Kit Vs. the Broadcasting Authority”; and most recently the “W” case involving a transgender person seeking a right to marry.
Michael qualified in the U.K. and started his professional career as a solicitors advocate in London. He is a former Director of Aids Concern, Amnesty International HK and is currently on the board of HK Refugee Advice Centre, Legal Adviser to Tongzhi Community Joint Meeting (TCJM) and a member of the Law Society Criminal Law and Procedure Committee.
